Water Situation

The tap water in Madrid is sourced primarily from the Lozoya River, Sierra del Guadarrama, and various reservoirs around the city. It is known for its excellent quality due to the natural filtration through granite rock which enriches it with minerals like calcium and magnesium. Over the years, the water quality has remained consistent, meeting high European standards. The Canal de Isabel II is the government body responsible for ensuring water quality, while the distribution is handled by the same company.
